A Decade of High-Impact Science
The Czech Centre for Phenogenomics is renowned for its service to the user community, its scientific footprint is perhaps best measured by the calibre of publications its team has co-authored. CCP researchers have consistently published in the world’s most prestigious journals, including Nature, Cell, and Nature Genetics. Read more
From Vision to Excellence
This year, the Czech Centre for Phenogenomics celebrates ten years as a national and European hub for advanced disease modelling and phenotyping. Founded from a small transgenic unit at the Institute of Molecular Genetics, CCP evolved into one of Europe’s largest and most advanced infrastructures for phenogenomics. Today, CCP employs around 140–145 specialists and operates fully as a large research infrastructure hosted by the Czech Academy of Sciences. Read more
From Genes to Insights
Over the past decade, the phenotyping at the Czech Centre for Phenogenomics (CCP) has undergone a profound transformation, mirroring the broader evolution of functional genomics. What began as the development of standardized phenotyping pipelines has evolved into a robust scientific ecosystem that bridges gene discovery, disease mechanisms, and preclinical translation. RD – Factory
While individual rare diseases affect relatively small populations, their collective impact is profound, touching the lives of over 300 million people worldwide. Despite this massive burden, the vast majority of these conditions lack approved therapies. To address this critical gap, CCP has established the RD-Factory program designed to function as a comprehensive ecosystem for the functional analysis and treatment of rare genetic variants. Bridging the Gap Between Genes and Therapy
Under the theme “For Users, With Users,” the conference reinforced CCP’s role not just as a service provider, but as a strategic hub for collaborative discovery. The 2025 edition was particularly notable for its strong focus on translational medicine, moving beyond basic understanding of gene function to the practical application of therapies for untreated conditions.
