Laboratory Technician for Molecular Biology and Genetics
The Czech Center for Phenogenomics (CCP) at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMG) is expanding its team and is looking for a laboratory technician for molecular biology and genetics to join its Transgenic and Archiving Module (TAM).
The Transgenic and Archiving Module (TAM) at the Czech Center for Phenogenomics generates new genetically modified mice and rats using state-of-the-art gene technologies. It provides comprehensive services, from initial gene targeting design, through the creation of tools and models of transgenic rodents, to genotyping and breeding of animal models.
Job description
- Generation of genetically modified rodent models (mice, rats) and analysis of these models using various genotyping strategies
- Processing of analysis data
- Standard laboratory work (molecular biology, cell culture, maintenance of laboratory equipment)
- Handling live laboratory animals and working with breeding databases
- Another tasks according to instruction from supervisors
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, or another relevant field
- Willingness to work with live laboratory animals and samples
- Knowledge of basic molecular biology methods
- Knowledge of reproductive technologies is an advantage
- Previous experience in a molecular biology laboratory and working with animals is an advantage
- A valid certificate for working with laboratory animals is also an advantage

The employer is the IMG. The workplace is the CCP building in BIOCEV campus in Vestec. The initial contract is for 12 month with expected extension upon demonstrated proficiency. The starting date is negotiable.
