Head of PDX and Cancer Models Unit
The Czech Centre for Phenogenomics, a member of the IMPC and Infrafrontier consortia, is seeking motivated and responsible candidates for the position of Head of the PDX and Cancer Models Unit. This unit is dedicated to the development of novel orthotopic mouse and rat PDX models used in cancer, immunology, and pharmacology research.
The successful candidate will lead a small team of technical specialists and collaborate with other units within the international Phenotyping Module of CCP.
Your responsibilities
- Management, implementation, and supervision of PDX/CDX experiments, ensuring high scientific standards, compliance with relevant protocols, and cooperation with other units involved in phenotyping.
- Management and supervision of laboratory technicians within the PDX unit.
- Project design and consulting: providing expert advice and designing research projects for CCP projects and external clients.
- Optimizing PDX research design for our users: improving the existing PDX/cancer research infrastructure to better support user needs/improve methodologies and introduce new technologies specific to cancer research.
- Another tasks according to instruction from supervisors Preparation of SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Preclinical Research and Contract Research, Grant Applications and Publications.
Requirements
- Education in biological, veterinary, medical or related field.
- Medical eligibility for work with laboratory animals and animal samples (rodents).
- Working knowledge of English language.

Contract details
- Full-time position, initially available for 12 months with a plan for longer-term extension based on demonstrated proficiency.
- Flexible starting date.
- Work location: CCP building in the CCP building on the BIOCEV campus in Vestec near Prague.
