10 Years of CCP
Honouring the People Who Built It
As the Czech Centre for Phenogenomics (CCP) celebrates its 10th anniversary, we are taking the opportunity not only to look back at a decade of scientific achievements and growth, but also to recognise the people who have helped build the Centre and shape it into what it is today.
CCP has always been a team effort. Behind every experimental model, dataset, service and scientific discovery are people whose expertise, dedication and daily work make these achievements possible.

During the 8th CCP Phenogenomics Conference, held in Prague on 9–11 September 2026 as part of CCP’s 10th anniversary celebrations, CCP Director Radislav Sedláček presented special Recognition Awards to three colleagues whose extraordinary commitment has played a particularly important role in the development of the Centre.
Recognising three outstanding contributions

Jan Procházka
Jan Procházka has played a key role in developing CCP’s Phenotyping Platform, turning it into what was described as the “engine room” of the Centre, the place where models become data and data become biological insight. Through his work, comprehensive and standardised phenotyping and preclinical studies have become one of CCP’s core strengths. At the same time, he has helped keep the complex operation running despite the enormous number of animals, measurements and experimental questions involved. His contribution reflects one of the essential principles of CCP: transforming sophisticated experimental models into high-quality data that can advance our understanding of gene function and disease.

Lenka Červená
The development of a large and complex research infrastructure requires not only scientific expertise, but also strong financial and administrative foundations. Lenka Červená has been instrumental in keeping CCP’s finances, administration and countless practical aspects of the Centre under control. Her work has helped create the conditions in which CCP can grow, deliver research and services, and pursue ambitious scientific goals while remaining firmly grounded in financial and organisational reality. Her contribution demonstrates the importance of the often less visible work behind a successful research infrastructure – work that makes scientific ambitions possible in practice.

Vendula Novosadová
Modern phenogenomics generates enormous volumes of complex data. Making these data reliable, interpretable and reusable is therefore an essential part of CCP’s mission. Vendula Novosadová has led CCP’s Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Unit in transforming large-scale phenotyping data into meaningful knowledge. Her work and that of her team encompasses quality control and statistics, automated analysis, public data delivery, imaging and multi-omics workflows. By ensuring that CCP’s data do not simply accumulate, but can be analysed, interpreted and reused, she has made an important contribution to turning phenotyping into biological insight and enabling the wider scientific community to benefit from CCP-generated data.
A recognition of teamwork
While the awards honour three individuals, they also represent something much broader: the collective effort behind CCP’s development over the past decade.
From its early beginnings to today’s multidisciplinary research infrastructure, CCP has been built through the vision, expertise and commitment of many colleagues, partners and friends. Each model generated, each dataset produced, each service delivered and each discovery made is the result of teamwork across scientific, technical, administrative and support functions.
The Recognition Awards therefore celebrate not only individual achievements, but also the collaborative spirit that has driven CCP forward.
We would like to thank all CCP colleagues – past and present – for 10 remarkable years of dedication, expertise and teamwork.
Congratulations to Jan Procházka, Lenka Červená and Vendula Novosadová on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for the important role you have played in building CCP.
