We would like to announce new jobs available at CCP.

– TECHNICIAN IN THE HISTOPATHOLOGY UNIT

Czech Centre for Phenogenomics, member of IMPC and Infrafrontier consortiums is seeking motivated and responsible candidates for technician positions in histopathology unit. Successful candidate will be part of an international team with dedicated and professional attitude and has to fulfill the following requirements:

Job description:

  • Performing of gross morphology necropsies
  • Preparation and processing of paraffin and cryo histology samples
  • Preparation of chemicals and biological solutions
  • Basic, special histological and immunohistochemical (both BF and IF) staining of tissues and cells
  • Collaboration in the preparation and implementation of experiments in histopathology field
  • Data processing
  • Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Other work activities as instructed by direct supervisors

Required Skills/qualification:

  • Education in biological, veterinary, medical or related field at least at high school leaving diploma level required
  • Interest in learning and understanding of new methods and techniques
  • Medical eligibility for work with laboratory animals and animal samples (rodents)
  • Working knowledge of English language and office / database software

Job description:

  • Performing non-invasive examination of mouse eyes with optical coherent tomography, Scheimpflug camera and electroretinography
  • Performing non-invasive examination of mouse hearing with auditory brainstem response test
  • Data processing
  • Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Collaboration in the preparation and implementation of experiments
  • Other work activities as instructed by direct supervisors

Required skills/qualification:

  • Education in biological, veterinary, medical or related field at least at high school leaving diploma level required

We are also seeking candidates for the positions of MALDI  imaging researcher and a Unit Head for Lung Phenotyping.

Laboratory of the Transgenic Models of Diseases  of the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences is looking for a Highly motivated PhD candidate to deliver research-led solutions to the challenges posed by SARS-CoV-2 using unique in vivo models and in cooperation with the Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Bellinzona, Switzerland.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated PhD candidate to focus his/her effort on developing their expertise in highly interesting COVID-19 research area and to contribute to the global efforts in tackling the development of COVID-19 infection, immunity responses and postcovid pathologies in various tissues. The project will build on the strengths of unique technologies and animal models that established in our collaborating laboratories, especially the Transgenic Models of Diseases and the Czech Centre for Phenogenomics (IMG CAS and Biocev in Vestec, CZ) and the Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Bellinzona, Switzerland
