LABORATORY TECHNICIAN – NEUROLOGY & BEHAVIOUR UNIT
Your main job responsibilities will be:
- Performing non-invasive behavioral experiments in laboratory rodents, such as Open Field Arena, Novel Object Recognition, Startle Reflex recording, analysis of animal gait and similar
- Elementary processing of data
- Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Collaboration in the preparation and implementation of experiments
- Other work activities as instructed by supervisors
The ideal candidate has:
- At least high school / college degree in a relevant field (veterinary or medical laboratory technician or equivalent)
- A very good relationship with laboratory rodents
- Manual dexterity and great care
- Medical fitness for working with animals
- Knowledge of standard office software
- Intermediate English (you will daily interact with foreign colleagues)
An experience of working in the laboratory, with rodent handling, study/work experience abroad and a valid certificate for working with laboratory animals are an advantage. However, the position is also suitable for graduates.

BIOINFORMATICIAN
To expand our team we are currently looking for candidates for the position of the Bioinformatics/data analytic team.
Core responsibilities:
- Analysis of images and developing programs for automatic using AI
- or modelling 3D structure proteins and their interactions using ‘alpha-fold’ SW and aiming to find new structure modulators
- Actively engage in the development and support of process automation initiatives to streamline workflow and drastically reduce time spent on manual data exports
- Lead small team of bioinformatics and performing your own research analysis of big phenotyping data
The best candidate should:
- Be willing to learn and develop new solutions in data preprocessing
- Be experienced in R (other languages Python, MySQL advantage)
- Have a knowledge of statistical analysis
- Be fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Have good communication skills and be able to work with the team as well as on a self-contained basis
- Possess MSc in bioinformatics, statistics, mathematics or related subject and have relevant track record in the field

COORDINATOR OF PRECLINICAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Czech Centre for Phenogenomics, member of IMPC and Infrafrontier consortia, is seeking motivated and responsible candidates for the position of a Coordinator of preclinical R&D.
The successful candidate will become a member of the CCP international team with highly-motivated and professional attitude. The Coordinator will play a central role in supporting the scientific services of the CCP together with the director, and phenotyping unit heads, and will be a crucial part of the senior management team of the CCP.
Job description:
- Contact person and representative in external communication with current and potential users of CCP preclinical services (e.g. pharma, biotech companies, research institutes etc.) from the Czech Republic and abroad – initiation and management of pre-clinical and other studies (communication including organisation of meetings, participation in study planning, costing and quotation, participation in the substantive content of contracts)
- Organisation and supervision of the preclinical and other complex projects at CCP including management of work of involved units
- Design, coordination of experiments, and support to users in collaboration with phenotyping unit heads
- Data analysis and interpretation, preparation of interim and final reports for users
- Quality monitoring of results and compliance with the rules of good laboratory practice (SLP/GLP)
- Involvement in the process of grant applications, management and reporting, publication of the scientific results, and dissemination activities, including social media
- Involvement in the preparation of the documents of the CCP for formal institute evaluations, scientific advisory board meetings, and yearly reports
- Own research project possible
Required skills/qualification:
- A biological, veterinary, medical or related field, experience in preclinical research is an advantage
- Professional experience in science management would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently and having a strategic mindset. Able to prioritise resources with balanced decision making.
- Attention to detail and the ability to diligently manage a broad range of different responsibilities in your own time.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiations, communication and presentation skills.
- High integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Medical eligibility for work with laboratory animals and animal samples (rodents)
- Working knowledge of English language (C1 level minimum)

- Performing non-invasive examination of mouse eyes with optical coherent tomography, Scheimpflug camera and electroretinography
- Performing non-invasive examination of mouse hearing with auditory brainstem response test
- Data processing
- Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Collaboration in the preparation and implementation of experiments
- Other work activities as instructed by direct supervisors
Required skills/qualification:
- Education in biological, veterinary, medical or related field at least at high school leaving diploma level required
- Interest in learning and understanding of new methods and techniques
- Medical eligibility for work with laboratory animals (rodents)
- Working knowledge of English language and office / database software
