VACANCY – LABORATORY TECHNICIAN OF THE BSL-3 LABORATORY

For the research infrastructure of the Czech Centre for Phenogenomics (CCP) hosted by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, we are looking for suitable candidates for the position of Laboratory technician of the BSL-3 laboratory CCP

Your main job responsibilities will cover:

  • working with laboratory animals which includes administration of test substance and biological sample collection,
  • performing clinical chemistry and haematology analysis based on established protocols,
  • detection of molecular markers by biochemical methods (spectrophotometry, ELISA, multiplex assays, PCR),
  • participating in assay development/validation and GLP pre-clinical studies,
  • evaluation of assay results and preparation of reports and conducting experiments and tasks as instructed by the unit head
  • additional tasks as instructed by the supervisor

The ideal candidate has:

  • At least high school / college degree in a relevant field (biology, veterinary or medical laboratory technician or equivalent)
  • A very good relationship with laboratory rodents
  • Manual dexterity and great care
  • Medical fitness for working with animals
  • Knowledge of standard office software
  • Intermediate Czech and English (you will daily interact with foreign colleagues)

An experience of working in the laboratory, with rodent handling, study/work experience abroad and a valid certificate for working with laboratory animals are an advantage. However, the position is also suitable for graduates.
